Only Laughs Inc. (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the Only Laughs platform accessible at only-laughs.com. Only Laughs Inc. is the data controller for personal data processed through this service.

Account data — When you sign up we collect your email address and, if provided, your name. This is managed through Clerk, our authentication provider.

Profile data — Display name and, for creators, your stage name, bio, profile picture URL, and subscription price.

Payment data — We do not store card numbers or banking details. Once live, payments will be processed by our payment provider, which stores payment method information on our behalf under its own privacy policy. We retain transaction records (amount, date, subscription status) for accounting and support purposes.

Content data — Videos, images, and text posts uploaded by creators are stored in our media infrastructure. We retain content for as long as the creator account is active.

Usage data — We log video watch progress, likes, and subscription activity to power features like “Resume watching” and creator analytics. We do not sell this data.

Technical data — Standard server logs including IP addresses, browser type, and referring URLs. Retained for up to 90 days for security and debugging purposes.

We use the data we collect to:

• Provide and operate the Only Laughs platform
• Process subscription payments and manage billing
• Deliver purchased content to authorised subscribers
• Provide creators with analytics about their audience and earnings
• Send transactional emails (subscription confirmations, receipts)
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and policy violations
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your data for advertising profiling or sell it to third parties.

We process your personal data on the following legal bases:

• Contract performance — to provide the service you have signed up for
• Legitimate interests — platform security, fraud prevention, product improvement
• Legal obligation — financial record-keeping, responding to lawful requests
• Consent — where we rely on consent (e.g. marketing emails), you can withdraw it at any time

We share data with the following service providers who process it on our behalf:

• Clerk — authentication, session management, and user account data. clerk.com/privacy
• Payment provider — payment processing and billing (finalising integration).
• Supabase — database and media file storage. supabase.com/privacy
• Replit / Hosting provider — cloud infrastructure and deployment.

All providers are contractually required to handle your data in accordance with GDPR.

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:

• Account and profile data is deleted within 30 days
• Payment records are retained for 7 years for legal and accounting compliance
• Creator content is deleted within 30 days of account closure
• Anonymised analytics data may be retained indefinitely

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Rectification — correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Erasure — request deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”)
• Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
• Restriction — ask us to restrict processing in certain circumstances
• Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests

We use only technically necessary cookies for session management and authentication. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may prevent you from logging in.

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including encrypted connections (TLS), private media storage with access controls, and authentication tokens with short expiry windows.

No transmission over the internet is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at legal@onlylaughs.com.

Only Laughs is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice on the platform or sending an email. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
